• Why does the job exist? Incumbent is responsible for managing the daily operation of the Grant and Catron, County Protective Services field offices, acting accordingly with the mission and vision of the agency, as well as utilizing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process in practice to achieve positive outcomes. The primary function is to monitor and supervise all functions of the local county office regarding programs, policies, procedures, service delivery, budget and personnel. How does it get done? This position manages the daily operation of placement field staff so as to permit the attainment of federal national standards and performance based budget measures. (40%); Work to ensure that principles of quality practice through adherence to policies and procedures are met in protective services cases. (25%); Adherence to administrative management principles in the areas of budget, personnel, and general office management. (25%); Develop and maintain a positive relationship with staff, other agencies and community partners. (10%). Who are the customers?
Experience as it relates to:
Working directly with Children, Youth, and their families; Partner with Community Service providers as it relates to Children, and Youth; Working with Youth in a school setting; Determining eligibility for services that might be needed for the Children, Youth and Families; Conduct and complete assessments of safety, risks, strengths, and family needs; Developing Safety plans for the Children, Youth and Families; Participate in multidisciplinary meetings; Identify, provide, and/or arrange timely assessments/evaluations/ interviews; Conduct medical case management activities for eligible clients. Ideal Candidate Experience as it relates to: Working directly with Children, Youth, and their families; Partner with Community Service providers as it relates to Children, and Youth; Working with Youth in a school setting; Determining eligibility for services that might be needed for the Children, Youth and Families; Conduct and complete assessments of safety, risks, strengths, and family needs; Developing Safety plans for the Children, Youth and Families; Participate in multidisciplinary meetings; Identify, provide, and/or arrange timely assessments/evaluations/ interviews; Conduct medical case management activities for eligible clients. Minimum Qualification Master's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in the management and direct provision of child welfare services, policy and procedure writing, and program research and development. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in child welfare totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Possible exposure to irate clientele.
