Job Description

Job Overview A farming and ranching corporation in Smith Valley, Nevada, is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper and hands-on Office Manager. We are seeking a proactive problem solver with strong leadership who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and resolves new challenges independently and efficiently. This hands-on role is responsible for reconciliations, month-end close, day-to-day bookkeeping with full-cycle accounting. This pivotal role combines comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities with office management duties, ensuring the smooth financial and administrative functioning of our organization. The ideal candidate will be energized by managing complex financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and streamlining office operations to support our mission-driven environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your accounting expertise while contributing to a collaborative and growth-focused workplace. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll using QuickBooks Enterprise. Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to maintain precise financial records. Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting. Oversee budgeting processes and assist in financial planning to support organizational goals. Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations. Essential Job Functions may include the following or other duties as assigned: Office Management Maintain Inventory Assist with day-to-day office operations Workers Compensation Management DOT Records and Quarterly Reporting Requirements Proven experience in full charge bookkeeping within corporate or non-profit settings; familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus. Strong proficiency in accounting software in QuickBooks; technical knowledge of GAAP is essential. Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping systems. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax preparation processes is highly desirable. Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger management, and account analysis. Skilled in financial report writing and preparing detailed financial statements for various stakeholders. Capable of handling accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy. Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance procedures is required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred.
