Job Description
Calvary is seeking an office administrator to lead the day-to-day operations and communications of the congregation. This role has been curate over time to meet the modern needs of the church and the people we serve. In this position, someone who is open to the spiritual nature of church would be a valuable addition to our team. Calvary was founded in 1963 and continues to this day as an affirming, growing congregation in the heart of Hauppauge, New York. The role of office administrator is integral to the functioning of our organization. We are looking for someone excited about mission-led work, connecting with people, and maintaining a sense of branding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Gift Processing Enters financial giving information into database, mails thank-you notices as needed, and generates quarterly and annual giving statements. 2. Database Management Enters and updates member data, manage mailing lists, and ensures content is up-to-date and consistent across multiple platforms (Gmail, ICON, Mailchimp). 3. Building Use Oversees building partners, including scheduling, tracking space use fees, and ensures insurance policies are up-to-date; acts as the point person for inquiries. 4. Communications Creates weekly emails & monthly newsletters, prints weekly bulletins, anticipates needed information and their schedules to promote events; handles all mail. 5. Graphic Design Manages church branding, designs digital content for social media and website, and proof-reads weekly bulletins; creates bulletin board schedules and sign-ups. 6. Manage Website Makes weekly updates, reviews content quarterly, manages forms, and monitors inquiries and communications; creates and administers online sign-ups. 7. Building Administration Secures bids for projects, keeps AED & First-Aid kits up-to-date; communicates with property committee on volunteer needs and projects; schedules vendors. 8. Media Capture Take candid photos at church events for communications and/or solicit photos taken by others; take pictures of staff and council members for website.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Preference for demonstrated experience in communications, graphic design, website design, or other related field. Sample of work desired. Proficiency with Wix, Mailchimp, Microsoft Word, (or similar website, mailing, and creative programs), Facebook, Instagram; willingness to learn and use new technologies. Compliance with Calvary's Employee Handbook and body of policies.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to use a computer (keyboard, mouse) in an office for 8-10 hours per week.COMPENSATION
The position is compensated at a rate of $17 to $22 per hour, commensurate with experience. Most weeks, the position is eight hours per week across two days. There are 2-3 weeks per year the position would require up to twelve hours. Calvary is open to flexibility in scheduling. Paid time off is offered based on length of employment.HIRING PROCESS

After being successfully screened, the candidate will be invited to interview with Pastor Zach, after which a member of Calvary's personnel committee will review the candidates. Recommendations will be made about hiring to Calvary's church council (board), with whom hiring decisions rest. Should the candidate, the committee, and the church council decide to move forward, a background check must be completed to comply with Calvary's Safe Church Policy, and an Employee Statement of Acknowledgement must be signed after the candidate reviews the Employee Handbook.Pay:
