General Objectives Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations and long-term growth of OnPoint Security, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations. Lead recruitment, hiring, and workforce development efforts while fostering strong relationships within the Astoria and Long Island City communities. Develop and maintain a portfolio of clients, cultivate strategic partnerships, and identify opportunities for business growth and expansion. Oversee internal operations, ensuring effective collaboration among employees, management, clients, and community stakeholders while maintaining high standards of service delivery, compliance, and professionalism. Promote a culture of accountability, customer service excellence, employee development, and shared success through OnPoint Security's profit-sharing model. Responsibilities Conduct supervisory checks at client sites to ensure guards are appropriately engaging with clients and delivering all services outlined in client contracts. Assess and address any concerns that may arise, efficiently and in a professional manner. Document and maintain findings from supervisory checks at client sites. Conduct staff performance reviews. Maintain and adhere to the departmental budget. Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner. Coordinate with guards to create weekly schedules and site assignments, ensuring a balanced division of hours across guards, based on availability. Maintain weekly payroll schedule and employee personal files to facilitate effective personnel management. Develop and oversee the implementation of client feedback surveys. Coordinate and oversee the timely implementation of employee performance evaluations and correction plans. Develop and oversee remuneration processes for well-performing employees. Oversee the maintenance of up-to-date guard files which includes contact information, guard availability, vaccination status, recent performance evaluations, up to date NYS security guard license and other licenses/certifications obtained. Provide training, coaching, professional and leadership development to other managers, supervisors, and employees as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, training on supervisory policies and procedures, conflict resolution, interviewing and onboarding processes, and workplace compliance. Stay abreast of new security standards and guidelines and ensure current contracts and employees are in compliance with all regulations. Supervise implementation of approved security programs for clients, and confirm the effectiveness for these initiatives and strategies. These initiatives include but are not limited to facilities protection, investigations, workplace security, travel security, personal security and coordinating executive and event protection. Develop appropriate job descriptions and a uniform interview and qualification process to ensure the company is hiring the best possible talent for the given position. Develop and oversee an onboarding process for new employees which includes an introduction to the company, review of employee policies and procedures, etc. Ensure employees and worker-owners are aware of the worker cooperative model of the company and the path to ownership available to all employees. Collaborate with local workforce development organizations to conduct recruitment. Represent the company at relevant events. Assist in securing new contracts. Required Qualifications Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in the security industry, including operations management, personnel supervision, and client relationship management. Possess a valid New York State Security Guard Registration. Must meet, or be capable of meeting, the qualifications required by New York State Department of State to serve as the Qualifying Officer for a licensed Watch, Guard and Patrol Agency. Demonstrated experience managing security operations, including multiple sites, guard scheduling, workforce deployment, incident reporting, and contract compliance. Strong knowledge of New York State Security Guard Act requirements, security guard training mandates, licensing regulations, labor compliance, and industry best practices. Experience recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating, and retaining security personnel. Proven experience developing and implementing security policies, post orders, emergency response procedures, and risk management protocols. Experience conducting investigations, incident reviews, threat assessments, and corrective action planning. Strong organizational and administrative skills, including oversight of payroll, scheduling, timesheets, licensing compliance, and performance management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, scheduling software, and electronic reporting platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, employees, law enforcement agencies, government officials, and community stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Former law enforcement, military, federal protective service, corrections, or public safety leadership experience. Current or previous designation as a Qualifying Officer for a licensed security agency. Board Certification in Security Management (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional, or equivalent industry credential. Experience managing physical security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, and alarm monitoring systems. Experience in business development, proposal writing, contract procurement, and client acquisition. Experience working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, affordable housing developments, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, or public-sector contracts. Bilingual proficiency strongly preferred.
