Essential Duties & Responsibilities Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal/Medicaid authorizations, including bed holds Assist with managing resident trust funds, including printing and distributing monthly statements Supervise business office staff and provide coaching, support, and corrective action when necessary Maintain census records and report status changes accurately Attend stand-up meetings as requested by the Administrator Assist residents and families with Medi-Cal/Medicaid applications Prepare TARS as needed Track Medi-Cal/Medicaid redeterminations and follow-up deadlines Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits Assist with collection activities for outstanding balances and bad debt Schedule, assign, and monitor work to ensure operational goals are met Support a positive and professional office environment through teamwork and communication Supervisory Responsibilities Assist with the overall supervision, training, and management of business office staff while promoting accountability, efficiency, and teamwork. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Experience with skilled nursing billing and payment processes preferred Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products Previous experience in a long-term care facility preferred Knowledge and experience with PCC strongly preferred Skills & Abilities Communication Skills Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, managers, residents, and families Mathematical Skills Ability to work with percentages, ratios, and financial calculations in practical situations Reasoning Ability Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to interpret written, verbal, and scheduled instructions accurately Physical Demands This position requires prolonged computer use as well as frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, and hearing. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The ability to adjust focus and maintain close and distance vision is necessary to perform essential job duties.
