Business Office Manager Swanton Valley Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center - Swanton, Ohio Join a Goal-Oriented Team in a Goal-Oriented Environment Swanton Valley Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced, driven, and results-focused Business Office Manager to join our leadership team. This is a critical position for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and is passionate about achieving operational, financial, and customer service goals. As a member of our goal-oriented leadership team , you will play a key role in supporting our residents, families, and facility operations while helping the organization meet and exceed performance objectives. Position Summary The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business office, including billing, collections, accounts receivable management, resident trust accounts, Medicaid and insurance processing, admissions financial reviews, and customer service support. This role works closely with residents, families, payers, and facility leadership to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. Essential Responsibilities Manage all business office functions, including accounts receivable, billing, collections, and cash management. Monitor and achieve facility financial goals related to collections, aging reports, and revenue cycle performance. Assist residents and families with insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay financial matters. Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding balances. Maintain resident trust accounts in accordance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with admissions and interdisciplinary teams regarding financial eligibility and payer sources. Prepare and analyze financial reports and aging summaries for leadership review. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, and external stakeholders. Support facility initiatives and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Office Manager in a healthcare setting (skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or related healthcare environment). Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private pay billing, and accounts receivable management. Experience with collections, financial counseling, and revenue cycle processes. Proficiency with healthcare billing systems and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred:
Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience. Experience managing resident trust accounts and Medicaid pending cases.
