Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Center Manager/Buyer to oversee the daily operations of our garden center. They will also work in office and help customers and take orders. The ideal candidate will have good plant knowledge and identification of basic perennials, ability to order and recognize plants on availability lists, a passion for horticulture, and exceptional customer service skills. This role requires a keen understanding of retail within the garden and landscape industry. Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the garden center, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising products. Utilize POS systems and cash registers for sales transactions accurately. Develop promotional strategies to increase sales and attract new customers. Communicate effectively with customers regarding their gardening needs and provide expert advice. Maintain the landscape around the garden center to ensure an attractive presentation. Implement retail math practices to analyze sales trends and manage budgets efficiently. Requirements Good plant knowledge with Previous Garden Center or Nursery experience Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients. Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English; multilingual skills are a plus. A passion for gardening and horticulture is highly desirable.
