Job Description
Business Office Manager Full-Time | Onsite A well-established nursing facility in the Portland Metro Area is seeking an experienced Business Office Manager to oversee facility business operations, including billing, collections, resident financial services, and administrative support functions. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care billing who enjoys working in a collaborative, resident-centered healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain resident financial records related to admissions, billing, and accounts receivable in accordance with regulatory requirements Prepare accurate and timely billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Affairs, private payors, and other funding sources Manage accounts receivable and collection processes Review payment policies with residents and responsible parties at admission Maintain required facility business documentation and compliance records Process cash receipts, account adjustments, and daily census-related updates Administer and reconcile resident trust accounts and petty cash Complete month-end close procedures and required financial reporting Support HR/payroll functions as assigned Partner with leadership and regional business office teams to support operational success Ensure compliance with company policies, professional standards, and federal/state regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred 3 years of experience in billing and collections Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay billing processes Experience working with EMR and financial systems Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining confidentiality Valid driver's license required Pay & Benefits Pay $32-$38/hour Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and sick leave Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage Why This Role This position plays a critical role in supporting the financial health of our facility while partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure residents receive seamless, well-supported care.
