We are a small business in the Interior Design / Construction industry, seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with bookkeeping for small businesses, preferably in the construction industry. Responsibilities Manage daily office operations and administrative functions Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Reconcile bank statements weekly. Prepare and complete monthly Sales & Use Tax filings Prepare and submit quarterly payroll tax reports and related filings Process biweekly payroll and payroll tax deposits Track project expenses and job costing. Monitor customer deposits and alert management of discrepancies or concerns. Ensure compliance with basic accounting principles and company policies. Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and reconciling accounts. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a weekly basis. Utilize accounting software (Quickbooks), for efficient record-keeping and reporting. Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits and tax preparation as needed. Maintain employee records and onboarding documentation Coordinate with outside accountants, vendors, and clients Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies throughout all financial activities. Requirements Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the construction/contractor industry. Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Experience with payroll processing and related compliance requirements. Ability to write clear and concise financial reports for management review. Strong budgeting skills to assist in the planning of financial resources.
