Department SDSU-Performing Arts Center Physical Location of Position (City) Brookings Posting Text The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center is seeking a motivated and creative individual to play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations as the Box Office and Marketing Manager at South Dakota State University (SDState). This position is located in Brookings, SD.This position will work to elevate the center through increased visibility, visitor engagement and premier customer service to patrons and guests. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position. The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts center that is the home for concerts, theatrical and dance performances, and special events. The Oscar's mission is to engage its community and foster collaboration by hosting artistic, educational, and cultural experiences that enrich lives, promote lifelong learning in and through the performing arts, and serve as a gateway between SDSU and the greater community. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will ensure a persuasive and clear brand for the facility including the management of effective internal and external marketing and communication efforts, comprehensive marketing strategies, managing public relations, upholding accessibility standards, and delivering high-impact visual design through web-based platforms, social and traditional media postings and press releases, quarterly newsletters, and printed collateral. This role will also manage the successful day-to-day operations of The Oscar Box Office including but not limited to; Paciolan ticketing set-up, capturing ticket sales, cash deposits, ticket exchanges, donation management, training, and staffing of the Box Office, front-of-house operations, event house management, the Oscar Volunteer Program, and overall customer service for the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a closely related field is required by the start date. At least two years' experience in a marketing/communications/design job role with similar duties. General knowledge of marketing strategy, campaign execution, branding, website management, social media, and email campaign strategies. Advanced graphic design skills (skilled in Adobe Creative Suite). Ability to plan, develop, implement, and manage projects. Experience creating or managing digital and printed collateral, signage, and promotional materials. Experience coordinating with vendors and partners to execute successful design projects, marketing strategies, and/or campaigns. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Previous experience in ticket sales, customer service, or event administration. Experience in managing a team and overseeing operations, including scheduling and training staff. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
More than one year of experience creating and maintaining a successful social media presence for a business/organization. More than one year of experience managing marketing and communications channels for advertising, public relations, and or communications. Experience developing brands, managing design and communications, and building audiences for the performing arts and/or University campus programs. Basic photography, videography, and video and audio cutting/editing experience. Previous experience with the Paciolan Ticketing System.
