Job Description

USPI Spicewood Surgery Center in Austin, TX is seeking a motivated Business Office Coordinator to join our team. We have 2 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Pain Management. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Summary :
The Business Office Coordinator (BOC) is responsible with the day-to-day operations of the business office, including
AP AND AR.
The BOC is also responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Registration, Insurance Verification and Medical Records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Knows, adheres to, and enforces all policies of the business office Supervises business office employees and processes Responsible for the hiring, orientation, performance reviews and training of registration and medical records staff Responsible for thorough working knowledge of accounts receivable system including maintenance of the managed care contracts Reconciles the cash receipts to the deposit log Informs business office manager of applicable day-to-day situations Supervise all medical records activities of the center in a manner consistent with the clinical needs of the center Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment Partners with the administrator to develop the overall strategic plan of the business office Develops and maintains policies & procedures and systems to minimize DSO and the rate of bad debt and increase the productivity of related operations Perform other activities as requested by the administrator, and assume other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary #LI-CM1
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's preferred Minimum of two years business office management experience Three years' experience in a medical setting such as a hospital, physician's office, or surgery center required. Must have accounts payable and receivable experience Must have Insurance Verification experience Knowledge of Insurance Verification, Scheduling, Registration and Medical Records Excellent communication skills, particularly with staff, patients, families and physicians
