The practice is also the clinical home of Precina, the company Dr. Williams helped build to take on chronic disease — the cause of more than 60% of deaths globally. Starting with diabetes, Precina is creating accessible, affordable care for patients everywhere. Come help us improve the lives of over a billion people! Responsibilities We are seeking a Billing Lead with a healthcare revenue cycle background and a detail-oriented, systems-driven approach. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll execute and oversee all aspects of revenue cycle management, lead the daily operational rhythm of the back office, and develop the workflows that allow the practice to scale. Mastery of NextGen/Healthfusion manual billing is essential, along with the ability to pivot fluidly between hands-on execution and operational leadership in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Responsibilities include:
Revenue Cycle Management:
Own end-to-end revenue cycle for the practice — insurance verification, pre-authorizations, manual billing, claims submission, denial resolution, and payment processing. Serve as the absolute expert in NextGen/Healthfusion manual billing and demonstrate expert-level command of Square and Instamed for seamless payment processing and reconciliation. Maintain credentialing for existing providers and partner with consultants to onboard new providers. Success is measured by collection effectiveness rate, days in A/R, and provider utilization rate.
Patient Experience & Recruitment:
Oversee patient recruitment and treatment coordination, including verification, onboarding, and scheduling. Success is measured by prospective-to-new-patient conversion.
Computer Aptitude & Workflow Development:
Bring a high degree of computer aptitude and genuine enthusiasm for technology to every aspect of the role. Quickly master new platforms, identify inefficiencies in billing workflows, and develop, document, and continuously refine the systems that allow the practice to scale. Success is measured by documented workflow improvements per quarter.
Operational Leadership & Staff Support:
Lead the daily operational rhythm of the back office — morning meetings and team huddles, phone system and scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and supplies procurement. Serve as the operational point of contact for staff, providing basic desktop and HR administrative support as needed.
Other Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Manager in support of the practice's mission and operational needs. Candidate Profile You are a healthcare professional with a positive outlook, a collaborative style, and a "no problem" demeanor when handling patient concerns. You're a self-starter who is exceptionally detail-oriented and technically savvy, thrives in fast-paced environments, and gets energy from learning, building systems, and seeing the results of your work in a small, tight-knit team. Ideal Experience Proven experience in medical back-office billing for a fee-for-service practice using manual billing workflows. Front-office experience in a medical practice using telemedicine technology. Familiarity with treatment and care coordination for patients with chronic and acute conditions. Track record of developing and documenting workflows that scale with a growing practice. Requirements Minimum 5 years of intensive, hands-on experience with NextGen in a medical practice — absolute proficiency in NextGen/Healthfusion manual billing is non-negotiable. Demonstrated proficiency with Square and Instamed. Experience with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and claims management. Familiarity with provider credentialing processes. High computer aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new technology platforms. Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication. Ability to provide basic desktop and HR administrative support. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful, and humble in pursuit of continuous learning. Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable in a start-up environment. Other Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. Collaborative team member who holds themselves and the office accountable for results. Alignment with organizational culture and a drive to succeed in a mission-driven environment.
