JOB DESCRIPTION
Assists the Commissioner and the Road and Bridge Superintendent in the overall management of the department, the preparation and maintenance of the budget and records, and the supervision of office operations.
Management Scope:
Supervises generally two (2) non-exempt staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Collects, monitors and verifies work projects to verify costs; monitors accounts receivable to ensure proper time credits to accounts. 2. Manages all departmental records to ensure full documentation of activities and integrity of information. 3. Prepares and manages the department budget to ensure adequate funding for service commitments and other operational requirements. 4. Keeps county commissioner informed of the status of work projects and other expenditures to control costs and more accurately forecast departmental needs. 5. Supervises time and attendance reporting and other human resource functions for the office. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Training:
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, or in a job related field of study. One (1) year of professional work related experience.
Special Requirements:
Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Standard office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 lbs., unassisted
