This role provides leadership in billing operations, accounts receivable management, financial analysis, reconciliations, budgeting, and surgery financial performance monitoring. The Business Manager works closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, and operational staff to optimize financial outcomes and support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to CEO. Monitor financial performance, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Develop and maintain financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Billing & Revenue Cycle Management Oversee billing operations and staff to ensure timely and accurate claim submission and payment processing. Monitor revenue cycle performance, identify billing issues, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with billing staff, RCM vendors, payers, and providers to resolve reimbursement challenges. Ensure compliance with payer contracts, coding regulations, and reimbursement guidelines. Accounts Receivable (AR) Management Manage AR processes and monitor aging reports to optimize cash collections. Analyze collection trends and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances. Oversee follow-up efforts on unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments. Prepare and present AR performance reports too CEO. Reconciliations & Financial Controls Perform and oversee bank, general ledger, billing, and revenue reconciliations. Review bank deposits, care credit deposits with accounting Oversea payroll deposits Investigate and resolve discrepancies between financial and operational systems. Maintain accurate financial records and support audit activities. Strengthen internal controls and ensure financial data integrity. Surgery Financial Management Analyze surgical service line financial performance, including revenue, expenses, case profitability, and utilization metrics. Monitor surgery center financial indicators and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Prepare surgery financial reports and present findings to leadership and physicians. Support contract analysis, reimbursement reviews, and financial modeling related to surgical services. Operational Leadership Supervise and support administrative, billing, and financial staff. Develop policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and financial performance. Partner with clinical and operational leaders to achieve organizational goals. Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Experience 5+ years of business management, financial management, healthcare operations experience. Demonstrated experience in billing management, revenue cycle operations, and accounts receivable oversight. Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports and budgets. Strong background in reconciliations, financial controls, and audit support. Experience with surgery center, healthcare financial operations and Ophthalmology preferred. Present financial and operational performance reports to CEO. Skills & Competencies Strong financial analysis and reporting skills. Knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Oversight of Revenue Cycle Operations Manage all stages of the revenue cycle, including: Insurance verification, benefits and authorizations Charge capture Medical coding Billing Claims submissions Denial management Payment posting Collections Technology and Systems Leadership Oversee RCM platforms, electronic health records (EHR), and billing systems. Evaluate and implement automation, AI, and analytics tools. Drive data-based decision-making.
