Office Assistant / Office Coordinator Big Country Design & Construction is looking for a highly organized, professional, and people-oriented Office Assistant / Office Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in keeping our office running smoothly, supporting daily operations, communicating with clients and vendors, and helping create a first-class experience for everyone who walks through our doors. We are a growing residential construction company based in Kerrville, Texas, specializing in custom homes, remodels, additions, and high-quality construction services throughout the Hill Country. We are looking for someone who is dependable, sharp, organized, friendly, and able to take ownership of the front office environment. Position Summary The Office Assistant / Office Coordinator will be responsible for helping manage day-to-day office operations, greeting and assisting customers, supporting scheduling and communication, helping organize administrative tasks, and maintaining a professional, welcoming office and showroom experience. This is a key support role for the company and requires someone who can stay organized, communicate well, handle multiple priorities, and represent Big Country in a professional and friendly way. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Greet customers, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors when they arrive at the office. Answer phones, take messages, route calls, and provide general information as needed. Help walk customers through the showroom and provide a professional, welcoming first impression. Assist with calendar scheduling, meeting coordination, appointment setting, and follow-up reminders. Help monitor and manage general company email communication. Support office organization, filing, scanning, document preparation, and general administrative tasks. Order office supplies, showroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and other materials needed for daily office operations. Help keep the office, conference room, front reception area, and showroom organized, clean, and presentable. Assist with basic customer communication and follow-up as directed. Help coordinate minor office-level communication with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Assist with preparing documents, packets, forms, checklists, and other company materials. Help maintain company calendars, contact lists, meeting notes, and internal organization systems. Support management with administrative tasks, errands, scheduling, and general office needs. Help create a professional, organized, and world-class customer experience from the moment someone enters the office. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, friendly, dependable, and comfortable being the first face people see when they walk into our office. This person should be able to communicate professionally, manage multiple small tasks at once, and take pride in keeping things organized and running smoothly. We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed. Construction experience is helpful but not required. A great attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay organized are more important. Qualifications Strong organizational skills. Friendly and professional communication style. Comfortable answering phones and greeting customers. Basic computer skills, including email, calendars, documents, and spreadsheets. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy. Willingness to learn company systems and processes. Ability to maintain a clean, professional, and organized office environment. Prior office, receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred. Construction, design, real estate, or service-business experience is a plus, but not required. Work Environment This position is based in our office and showroom. The role will involve daily interaction with customers, vendors, subcontractors, team members, and company leadership. The right person will help set the tone for the office and contribute to a professional, high-energy, customer-focused environment.
