Office Manager/Bookkeeper Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary - 2.0 McKinney, TX Job Details Part-time $18 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Benefits administration Spreadsheets Bachelor's degree Attention to detail GAAP QuickBooks Accounting and finance experience Productivity software Office management Donor and alumni database management Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant with hands-on experience using QuickBooks, Altru or other Blackbaud Product/CRM, and Paychex. The ideal candidate will manage daily accounting operations, payroll processing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and donor/payment tracking while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Also responsible for benefits administration, file maintenance and some administrative tasks as assigned. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Process payroll, employee deductions, and tax reporting through Paychex Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Track donations, memberships, ticket sales, and constituent records using Altru Assist with budgeting, audits, and tax preparation Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal controls Support management with financial analysis and reporting Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or three years of applicable experience 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Proficiency in QuickBooks required Experience with Paychex or similar payroll system Familiarity with Altru or other nonprofit fundraising database Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Excellent organizational and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Preferred Skills Nonprofit accounting experience Payroll tax knowledge Financial reporting and budget management Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
