Job Description

Lakeland School is a Walworth County-owned public day school providing exceptional educational opportunities for students with special education needs. Our environment provides the opportunity for students with significant cognitive impairment to be educated with peers of the same age and fully integrated into school activities. We are seeking a welcoming, highly-organized, and detail-oriented School Business Office Supervisor to serve as a key member of our team. This role is central to the smooth, daily functioning of the school and frequently serves as the first point of contact for school leadership, staff, and County departments. The position provides support across financial, reporting, facilities, human resources, administrative, and operational processes that keep our school running effectively each day.

Supervision assignments for this position have not yet been assigned for the next school year.

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree or formal preparation equivalent to a two-year program in a business-related field, and four to five years of relevant prior experience. Bachelor's degree and work in a school setting preferred. Knowledge of accounting and cost accounting principles is essential. Ability to apply business mathematics and basic statistics to solve business problems. Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Interactions and Communications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise. Demonstrated customer service skills and a commitment to creating a positive experience for students, families, and staff. Decision Making Procedures and methods are clear and supervision is available as required or requested. Information is provided with additional research and observations which contributes to the decision making process of department management. Thinking and Problem Solving In relation to established procedures, protocols and policies of the County and the department, challenges in this position tend to be diverse, but are typically covered by precedent or established practice.
