Trenholm State Community College Position Summary The Clerical Assistant performs a variety of noncomplex clerical functions designed to implement, maintain, and execute departmental practices and procedures.
Salary Schedule:
L; Up to 19 hours per week Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist the Dual Enrollment Coordinator in the assimilation of admissions data, processing dual enrollment admissions applications, maintenance of dual enrollment records and the preparation of related reports. 2. Maintain textbook inventory to ensure proper labeling and quantity of textbooks required each semester. 3. Work closely with the Dual Enrollment Coordinator and high school counselors to coordinate student orientation and parent information sessions for new and returning students. 4. Correspond with dual enrollment applicants, parents, high school counselors, college faculty and staff, and personnel from other colleges concerning dual enrollment policy, admission applications and procedures. 5. Serve as a dual enrollment representative at campus events as needed. 6. Comply with policies and procedures established by Trenholm State Community College and the Alabama Community College System. 7. Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Basic knowledge of office procedures. 3. Knowledge of general office procedures and proofreading
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
1. Effective oral and written communication skills. 2. Effective telephone techniques. 3. Knowledge of office practices, general postal regulations, and procedures. | 4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, other employees, and the public. 5. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of office information. 6. Ability to multi-task. 7. Ability to utilize a PC and related hardware and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
