The Saraland Board of Education is accepting applications for the following classified position.
POSITION TITLE
SCHOOL
RECEPTIONIST/SECRETARY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with office operations, including data entry, filing, and record keeping Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and general computer applications Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct Ability to type accurately and operate standard office equipment Alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed acceptable by the Board
REPORTS TO

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Embrace and promote the school system's mission, vision, beliefs, and goals Understand and assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy Participate in the efficient and effective operation of the school, including staff meetings and assigned duties Maintain regular and punctual attendance; follow proper procedures for recording daily attendance Abide by the Alabama Educator Code of Ethics and maintain high professional standards Accept no other employment that interferes with the performance of job responsibilities Greet and assist visitors; answer phones and route calls courteously and professionally Support student registration, check-out, and withdrawal processes, including required paperwork, records, and transcripts Assist parents/guardians with registration materials and processes Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date student and school records in accordance with law and policy Perform daily, monthly, and routine tasks required for the efficient operation of data management systems Enter, manage, and correct data for students, staff, and schedules, ensuring compliance with proper codes and formats Resolve data conflicts and assist the principal with data analysis and interpretation Prepare, print, and distribute school reports such as progress reports, report cards, attendance, and discipline reports Operate and maintain office equipment and utilize school software and communication platforms Support mail handling, document distribution, and interschool communications Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment Maintain security and confidentiality of all school-related business Promote positive public relations and demonstrate courteous, professional interactions Maintain proper working relationships with students, staff, and community members Participate in training to maintain and improve professional skills and technical proficiency Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten (10) or Twelve (12) month contract
EVALUATION
Performance evaluated in accordance with Board policy
