  • $102,705Job Summary The Child Abuse Program Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing state-level child abuse prevention, intervention, and investigative programs.
This position involves developing policies, supervising staff, coordinating with external agencies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The administrator plays a vital role in improving child welfare outcomes, implementing best practices, and fostering interagency collaboration to protect children from abuse and neglect.

Primary Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive child abuse prevention and intervention programs. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to protect at-risk children. Monitor state and federal regulations to ensure program compliance. Lead and mentor a team of child welfare professionals, case managers, and investigators. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff handling child abuse cases. Coordinate efforts with law enforcement, social services, healthcare providers, and advocacy organizations. Develop public awareness campaigns and educational programs to prevent child abuse. Represent the agency in legislative discussions, community meetings, and interagency task forces. Ensure proper investigation and resolution of child abuse cases. Review and analyze case data and trends to improve program effectiveness. Conduct internal audits and program evaluations to assess service delivery and outcomes. Respond to emergency child abuse incidents and coordinate crisis intervention strategies. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard children under state care.

Knowledge and Skills Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams. In-depth knowledge of child protection laws, social services policies, and trauma-informed care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders and reporting outcomes. Strong ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with professionalism and empathy. Skilled in public speaking, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Ability to assess program effectiveness, identify gaps, and develop strategic improvements. Strong data analysis and policy evaluation skills to guide decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications At least five years of experience in child welfare, social services, or abuse prevention programs, including at least two years in a leadership capacity.
