Position Summary:
The Co-Curricular programs at Great Hearts Academies include After-School Athenaeum and Summer Programs. The duties of the Assistant Campus Coordinator include providing managerial and operational support to the Campus Coordinator. This is a 12-month, .6-time (24 hours weekly), non-benefits-eligible position, reporting to the Campus Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality after-school and summer programs. Assist with operational and administrative tasks such as completion of paperwork, ordering supplies, curriculum prep and implementation, staff training, marketing efforts, and other tasks as directed. Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies. Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom). Maintain licensing compliance in all areas of program operations. Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior. Escalate incident reports and significant events to Campus Coordinator. Substitute in classroom as needed. Act on behalf of Campus Coordinator in their absence. Adhere to Great Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives. Attend meetings at home office and other local business locations. Other duties as assigned.
Required/Preferred Education:
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Required/Preferred Skills:
The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others. They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people. They will possess requisite experience in the field of liberal arts and/or education, as well as experience with children and children's programming. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a licensed program and meet the qualifications of Director Designee in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
Physical Functions:
Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel required:
