Job Summary Provides various types of clerical or trades support to obtain experience and knowledge in an office or a particulartrades fields. Job Description Overview The High School Intern is an inexperienced administrative position that provides office, clerical, and administrative support and assistance. Essential Functions 1 Performs a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks to assist and support the administrative department; adheres to office and City policies and procedures. 2 Types form letters, memos, and other documents to assist clerical staff; demonstrates accuracy and speed ensuring effective transcription and document writing. 3 Answers the telephone and engages, assists, or directs callers to appropriate person or location; provides general information and determines necessary direction to send caller. 4 Prepares, tracks, organizes, and monitors folders and files for a variety of documents in specified location; demonstrates strong organizational skills. 5 Sorts, stamps, mails, and/or delivers mail to various locations; performs any tasks related to mail or document delivery throughout the department. 6 Assists in the operation of various office equipment to complete assigned task. 7 Tracks and monitors office inventory and creates re-order list; ensures appropriate inventory is procured, shelves stocked and supplies replenished. 8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned. Knowledge and Skills 1 Basic knowledge of office procedures. 2 Basic knowledge of telephone etiquette. 3 Ability to learn to operate computer keyboard and related software. 4 Ability to apply basic math. 5 Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 6 Must be a student in the Vocational Education Program. 7 Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships. Experience None Licenses and Certifications None Education High School student Salary Range $21.50•$21.50 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
