Job Description

Description:
At Access Therapy our focus is on providing quality compassionate care to our patients in an outpatient clinical setting. Our company is designed to help meet the needs of our community by providing outpatient physical therapy services primarily to AHCCCS members (Medicaid). As the first point of contact the ideal candidate must be self-motivated, warm, welcoming, patient, empathetic, organized, and efficient. As a small clinic the operational demand and workload fluctuates daily depending on the number of appointments scheduled and other factors, so adaptability is key. We value diversity and inclusivity so it is important that employees be comfortable interacting with patients from many different backgrounds. It is also important to note you will need to be comfortable working at a shared desk in close proximity to co-workers. Employees can expect a professional but fairly relaxed and fun work environment. The right candidate will be highly motivated, capable of independent decision-making, and comfortable working without constant direction. This position requires a bilingual representative who is fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish, with the ability to accurately translate medical information.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer phone calls on a dual-line phone and respond to messages in a personable manner while using professional phone etiquette. Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate with physical therapists and PTA's to ensure seamless patient flow. Check-in patients, verify demographics, and insurance information and collect payments as needed. Communicate with Spanish Speaking patients using fluent Spanish and translate as needed. This may occasionally include assisting with translation of documents and communications as well. Process Credit Cards and take Cash Payments. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records both electronic and physical. Provide general administrative support, including scanning, copying, and faxing documents. May assist with ordering supplies as needed. Accept and sort mail and packages. Basic cleaning and organization of front office. May occasionally need to assist PTA's with cleaning exam rooms, bathroom, fitness room, and break areas. May occasionally be required to assist the Doctor or PTA's with patients intake and monitoring. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Cross-Trained Employees will assist the Physical Therapists & Physical Therapist Assistants with patient care by monitoring patients and assisting patients with physical therapy exercises as needed. Ability to perform basic movement such as reaching, bending, walking, crouching, will be necessary in this role.
Requirements, Skills, Qualifications:
Availability to work part-time 20-40 hours per week typically. Office hours are currently 8am - 5pm M-F. If you have specific availability needs please list them in your cover letter or make note of them if contacted for an interview. Fluency in English and Spanish required including ability to translate and discuss medical terminology. Written and verbal. High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 Years in a customer service or receptionist position required. Medical Office experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to manage your time wisely with minimal supervision is critical. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) preferred. Knowledge of Insurance and medical terminology helpful. Proficiency with Google Docs and Google Sheets required. Ability to type a minimum of 60 WPM. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as a part of a team. Ability to work in a small office in close proximity to co-workers. Ability to engage with patients and visitors from all economic and cultural backgrounds without bias. Ability to sit and use a computer for long periods of time.
