Our home is warm and welcoming, anchored by our 90-pound English Cream Golden Retriever, who's very much part of the family. We value calm, intentional energy in our home. As parents, we're deeply invested in being present with our children—whether that's doing arts and crafts together, starting a backyard garden, or our Sunday tradition of pancakes followed by beach walks. We value household support that feels calm, capable, and intuitive: someone who can confidently take initiative, read the room well, and work independently while naturally fitting into the flow of a busy family home. Our daughter starts half-day preschool twice a week in August, and we are currently in the very hands-on phase with our new baby, who loves being held and needs a lot of attention throughout the day. During periods when my husband is traveling for work, I am often solo parenting, so additional support during those times — whether that's helping with dog walks, light childcare support, or simply helping keep the home flowing smoothly — is deeply appreciated. We currently have a house cleaner who comes weekly so we are looking for someone who can help lift the mental load by managing the planning, organizing, restocking, anticipating needs, and overseeing vendors and cleaners so our weeks feel more easeful and supported rather than overwhelming. We also have many existing lists and systems already in place — whether that's a checklist of items we always keep stocked or a detailed household manual for the home. We would love someone who can confidently utilize these tools as helpful reference points while also naturally taking ownership, noticing details independently, and helping the home feel calm, reset, and well cared for. Who You Are You're a proactive problem-solver who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing—you notice it and take care of it. You're comfortable with constructive feedback and view it as a tool for growth rather than criticism. You bring calm, positive energy and have a natural ease around children, able to redirect, engage, and support when needed. You're organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy enough to manage calendars, coordinate logistics, and complement a highly organized household that values keeping the home warm, polished, welcoming, and flowing smoothly around the family's daily life. You have strong social awareness and emotional intelligence, with a natural ability to sense when to step in, when to step back, and how to support a busy family without adding unnecessary stress or overwhelm. While our home can absolutely be lively, active, and full of the normal chaos that comes with young children, we value a calm, grounded presence and someone who can help bring a sense of order, ease, and steadiness to the day-to-day flow of family life. You're comfortable taking cues from the family's routines and preferences while confidently taking ownership of responsibilities and helping the home run smoothly. The ideal person for this role is someone who naturally anticipates needs, adapts thoughtfully, and helps create an environment where the family feels genuinely supported rather than needing to constantly direct, manage, or delegate every detail. In return, you'll be welcomed into a kind, thoughtful family that deeply values collaboration, communication, and creating a respectful, supportive long-term working relationship. We understand that not every responsibility happens weekly, and many tasks are rotational, seasonal, or situational in nature. More than anything, we value thoughtful prioritization over trying to accomplish everything at once. Our goal is to find someone who helps the home feel calm, cared for, supported, and consistently flowing smoothly. While responsibilities may vary from week to week, the biggest areas of support for our family are maintaining household flow through laundry, restocking groceries and household essentials, and helping lighten the family's mental load in meaningful, proactive ways. Core Responsibilities Household Organization & Maintenance Daily resets and prepare home for weekly house cleaner Create and maintain household organization systems Seasonal swaps (children's clothing sizes, décor, bedding) Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs Occasional event and party prep support (food orders, pickups) Indoor and outdoor plant care according to watering schedule Change batteries, light bulbs, HVAC filters, and smoke detectors as needed Laundry & Linens Wash, fold, organize, and put away all family laundry Iron and steam wrinkled garments Maintain specialty stain treatment as needed Rotate and refresh children's bedding Keep laundry area well-stocked and organized Inventory & Errands Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies Manage running household supply lists Manage and coordinate household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target) Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping Collect mail from cul-de-sac mailbox and manage package handling Break down boxes for recycling Meal Support Wash and prep fruits and vegetables Prepare simple weekly lunch and snack staples, including salads and other grab-and-go items to support the family's day-to-day needs.
