This entry-level position works closely with project managers, consultants, clients, and local agencies to support the permitting process from application through approval. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with multiple parties to obtain status updates and ensure permit applications continue moving forward.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Permit Coordination:
Assist with preparing and submitting permit applications to local jurisdictions and regulatory agencies. Track permit applications and maintain accurate permit logs and records. Monitor permit review timelines and communicate status updates to project teams. Organize and maintain electronic permit files and project documentation. Assist in gathering required documents for permit submissions.
Agency & Jurisdiction Communication:
Contact city, county, and other agency staff to obtain updates on permit reviews and approvals. Follow up with jurisdictions regarding outstanding comments, corrections, or missinginformation. Schedule meetings, appointments, and inspections as needed. Maintain professional relationships with agency representatives and project stakeholders.
Project Support:
Work with project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants to collect information needed for permit applications. Help coordinate responses to plan review comments, correction notices, and agency reviewfeedback. Review agency correction comments and assist in preparing complete resubmittal packages. Perform backcheck reviews of revised plans and supporting documents prior to resubmittalto help ensure jurisdiction comments have been addressed and required documents areincluded. Track resubmittal deadlines and coordinate with project teams to obtain updated plans anddocuments. Provide regular updates on permit status and anticipated approval timelines. Assist with identifying permit requirements and submission deadlines.
Administrative Support:
Enter and update permit information within company databases and tracking systems. Prepare reports and summaries regarding permit activity and project status. Assist with general administrative tasks related to project permitting. Maintain confidentiality of project and client information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or coursework in construction, business administration, planning, or arelated field is a plus. Previous administrative, customer service, construction, or office experience preferred but not required. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to learn permitting processes, municipal procedures, and construction terminology. Experience in reading and understanding construction documents.

Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
