Job Description

Laurel Ag & Water is looking for a self-motivated, exceptional Construction Resource Planner. As a key member of the construction team, you will provide expertise in project controls, scheduling, and schedule analysis while also driving the administrative support that keeps construction operations running - from project launch and mobilization through NetSuite transactions, time reconciliation, and close-out. Laurel is looking for a strong, hands-on individual with a proven track record in construction project scheduling and coordination within a rapidly growing business. This role will report to the Director of Construction. This person will be passionate about understanding our customer needs and creating solutions that maximize their experience at Laurel. The Construction Resource Planner is expected to be a team player that lives Laurel's cultural values, sets an example for others, and puts systems in place to constantly enhance the culture. They should also be able to execute tactically in player- coach mode as needed, as well as having the strong communication skills to inspire others in their role as a team builder.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Pre-Construction Project Completeness Review Serve as completeness monitor for each project prior to construction Complete tasks outlined in the "Project Launch Construction Admin Tasks" SOP Create construction packets (paper and electronic in Box) that include scope of work and labor budget, important PO's and timing of delivery, and a consolidated parts list Plan & Schedule Resources Work with the foreman, underground managers and construction team to plan and schedule internal and external resources, including subcontractors and internal crew, based on project scope of work and resource skill sets to meet completion targets Help track and locate equipment and confirm availability, and facilitate equipment moves to where it is needed, including generating POs and coordinating with the warehouse and other resources Work with key stakeholders to plan and schedule manufacturing and fabrication based on project scope of work to meet completion targets Create and Manage POs and Related Communications Issue purchase orders for the acquisition of subcontract labor and rental equipment Review list of projects "in-construction" to ensure timely completion and go-back when necessary Coordinate with Team Members & Manage Mobilization Work with logistics coordinator, purchasing and warehouse staff to ensure timely receipt of materials for staging consistent with construction schedule Keep account managers informed of progress throughout the life of the project via regular meetings Coordinate with the construction team to manage mobilization tasks including per diem and hotel bookings and restroom deliveries Keep the construction schedule up to date and address changes as they arise, whether last-minute or predetermined Manage USA Tickets (Underground Service Alerts) Activate USA ticket prior to construction using the Foreman/underground manager information gathered from the job site Keep all tickets current during construction with guidance from the Foreman/underground manager Manage NetSuite Transactions & Administrative Processing Create, maintain and assist with NetSuite transactions including Projects, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Change Orders and calendars, as applicable, throughout the construction process NetSuite project management calendar Non-NetSuite project management calendar Monitor progress of installation and adjust schedule as necessary due to change orders, delayed material, weather, unforeseen conditions, etc. Review and assist in the reconciliation of crew related time against payroll to ensure proper coding of time: Miter - helping Payroll enter proper hours for non-exempt employees NetSuite Time Tracking - entering project specific hours into NetSuite for exempt employees Got Safety document processing Process field submitted tickets (these are the data source for NetSuite transactions, time keeping, etc.) Complete any other requested task and duties, as assigned, to provide administrative support to construction
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Proven self-management and team management skills Highly skilled problem solver - capable of seeking out and finding solutions Must be computer and ERP savvy. Proficient in Excel, Word and NetSuite (or similar ERP). Knowledge of CPM scheduling & planning Proven ability to work in a team environment inside and outside of department Proven ability to set the tone and build trust throughout the organization Detail oriented and organized Follow through is paramount Able to make decisions under pressure High energy, hungry to win, approachable, flexible and analytical
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with agriculture irrigation, construction scheduling, construction management and/or project controls Spanish speaking Comprehensive understanding of practical construction/mechanical concepts and order of operations Familiar with standard tools and equipment
