Los Angeles, CA Job Details Full-time $19 - $24 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Spanish English Customer inquiry handling High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Overview Provides support to school site by supervising students, assisting in the orderly transition between classes and activities and supporting the front office. Essential Functions Student Supervision Supervise students - before or after school (depending on schedule), during breakfast snack, and/or lunch, in the computer lab, during P.E., and during class transition times. Help enforce school policies and procedures, including the school-wide safety plan, throughout the entire camp Monitor student restrooms and stairwells whenever possible. Ensure that school gates are locked at all times while school is in session. May be asked to supervise small groups of students in class or during transitions. Office Assistance Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and any visitors warmly and in a professional manner. Maintain appropriate visitor documentation. Answer busy phones, provide answers, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member. Type and distribute school correspondence including letters, memos, and weekly newsletters as needed. Assist in receiving deliveries to site. Prepare outgoing student mailings and distribute incoming mail. Maintain a clean and presentable desk space and office environment. Maintain and replenish the visitor sign in sheets at the Synergy school office. Student and Family Relations Help to maintain a positive, nurturing and achievement-oriented school culture that includes college preparation for all students. Build relationships with families to keep them well-informed and support their needs. Assist with and attend meetings on evenings and weekends when necessary. Other Responsibilities Attend to student needs and injuries, report all student injuries and direct the students to first aid in the office if applicable. Assist with student supervision on field trips when needed. Become familiar with and assist with the implementation of the School Safety Plan. Assist with other duties as needed, including light custodial work (i.e., emptying trash, sweeping floors, emergency cleanup, etc.). Qualifications and Desired Characteristics Proficient in English and bilingual (Spanish/English) required. Strong customer service skills required. Experience in a middle or high school desirable. Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel. Able to lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs. Positive attitude and friendly demeanor. Willing to take initiative and be a team player. Education High school diploma or equivalent required and AA degree or some college desirable. Synergy Academies is an equal opportunity employer.
