Personal Assistant

Personal Assistant to respected, award-winning producer-director, currently working on a new documentary film. Although there will be some production-related work, must be clear that most of this work will be of a personal nature: running errands, animal care (1 dog, 1 cat), groceries, mail, household, bookkeeping, etc. Occasional house-sitting. But I will also take time to answer your questions about the business and try to be helpful for your future plans. Must emphasize importance of being brief commute from my home in Studio City, meaning you should be based in the Valley -- ideally IN Studio City. There will often be duties in the AM, then an open afternoon, then a needed return a couple of hours later. You should be no more than 15 minutes away. Atmosphere is friendly and supportive, but professional. You must be highly responsible, dependable, reliable, honest, literate, articulate, respectful, discreet, and have good phone presence. Would need commitment for at least 7 months. Most bills paid by check (Old School!) so know how to reconcile checkbooks with bank statements. Need to be familiar with Quicken or able to learn. Likewise, Google Docs, Google Drive, DocuSend. Computer literate on Mac. At $22 per hour, part-time, consider this may not be an adequate living wage, but good job for a young person looking for that entry level position, working directly with experienced filmmaker. (Minimum pay per week is $425.) Ideal if you have another part-time job.

I have some flexibility re:

scheduling, but this job has to be priority for scheduling other work hours. You would be paid as an independent contractor. No insurance and no deductions taken. You'll invoice weekly, and will receive a W-9 and a 1099 at end of calendar year.
