Job Description

Please note: Extra-Help are not entitled to county benefits and are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week. This position will provide front counter support in the Department of Public Works Roads Division.
Duties:
Assist the public in person or by telephone and obtain information to take appropriate action. Perform data entry. Review forms and submitted materials for basic compliance and completion before processing. Record maintenance. Screen and distribute incoming mail. Scanning. Filing. Compose letters and other correspondence ensuring the information is complete, accurate, and consistent with forms, procedures, and regulations. Obtain and relate information related to department programs and records. Maintain some accounting records and logs in accordance with prescribed procedures and regulations. Provide office support for Division staff. Other related duties as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications:
Operate a personal computer and other modern office equipment. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to communicate professionally in person, over the phone, and through email communications. Ability to analyze data, interpret directions, procedures and regulations, and develop appropriate responses. Ability to complete multiple priority projects with conflicting deadlines. Must be able to perform job assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to adjust to unexpected changes in work demand to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
