Contra Costa Adult School Location West County Detention Facility, Richmond, CA About the Employer The Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) is a unique public education agency. One of 58 counties in California, Contra Costa County serves the 11th largest public-school student population in the state, supporting approximately 169,394 students. Officially established in 1932, CCCOE has a long history of providing direct services to some of the county's most vulnerable students, including young people who are incarcerated, experiencing homelessness, in foster care, or who have severe physical or emotional challenges. CCCOE also provides support services to schools and school districts throughout Contra Costa County, services that can be handled more effectively and economically on a regional basis rather than by each of the county's 286 schools or 18 school districts. These services range from budget approval and fiscal support to technology infrastructure and communications support. Job Summary Job Summary Under general supervision, performs varied and responsible secretarial and administrative assistant duties to relieve assigned Principal of administrative and clerical detail; plans, coordinates, and organizes office activities and coordinates flow of communications and information; prepares and maintains a variety of manual and automated records and reports related to assigned school(s); and performs related duties as assigned. • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college level coursework in business or public administration or related field and four (4) years of clerical or secretarial experience involving frequent public contact. • Must be able to pass and maintain custody clearance.
