The Role We're seeking a skilled, organized Dental Assistant with front office and insurance experience. This role uniquely combines chairside assisting, insurance coordination, and patient communication—perfect for someone who thrives managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities. What Makes This Position Different Modern, technology-driven practice with digital imaging and advanced workflows Supportive, respectful team culture where your contributions are valued Opportunity to expand your clinical skills in cosmetic and implant dentistry Consistent weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends Beautiful, professional office environment in downtown Santa Barbara Growing practice where you can develop and advance your career Your Responsibilities Clinical & Chairside Provide efficient chairside assisting during cosmetic, implant, and restorative procedures Take digital x-rays (CA X-Ray Certification required) Perform digital scans and prepare impressions Sterilize instruments and prepare operatory rooms following infection control protocols Support hygiene appointments and patient flow Front Office & Insurance Coordination Greet patients warmly, verify information, and manage check-in process Schedule appointments using Open Dental practice management software Verify insurance coverage and submit claims accurately and timely Conduct treatment coordination consultations and patient financial discussions Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant patient records Handle phone inquiries and patient communication with professionalism Required Qualifications 2+ years of dental office experience California X-Ray Certification (required) Knowledge of dental insurance verification and claims processing Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills Professional, reliable, patient-focused attitude Proficiency with practice management software (Open Dental experience is a plus) Preferred Qualifications Spanish bilingual skills Experience with cosmetic or implant dentistry Dental Assistant certification What We Offer Competitive compensation with potential for growth Employee dental discount Flexible schedule within weekday hours On-the-job training and professional development opportunities Paid time off Ready to Join Our Team?
