Teesside Role description: Administration Somewhere Else is seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our small but growing charity in Stockton-on-Tees. Somewhere Else aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of refugees and asylum seekers. We provide therapeutic support and craft activities to individuals and in group settings. The Administrative Assistant will be the first point of contact for the organisation and will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for refugees and asylum seekers accessing our services. The role will provide efficient administrative and front-of-house support, helping to ensure the smooth running of appointments, clinician diaries, room arrangements, correspondence, records, meetings and general office systems. We are looking for someone with previous experience in an administrative, reception or customer-facing role, and experience working with vulnerable populations, ideally refugees or asylum seekers. You will have strong organisational and administrative skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or case management systems, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and cultural sensitivity. You will need to be able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced or emotionally demanding environment, and have strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks. You will understand the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection requirements. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in the refugee and asylum sector, mental health services, or charity settings. Knowledge of issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers would be an advantage, as would experience supporting a senior leader or leadership team. Additional language skills and experience working sensitively across cultures would also be helpful. In return, we offer a supportive and inclusive working environment, flexible working arrangements, a pension scheme, statutory annual leave and sick pay, and the opportunity to contribute to work that makes a real difference in the lives of refugees and asylum seekers.Job title:
