Job Description

Basic Purpose of the
Job:
Under general direction, performs duties under the general supervision of the City Clerk to support the City Clerk's office and Finance Department.
Supervision Received:
Work under the general direction and guidance of the City Clerk and Finance Director while providing day-to-day support to both Departments. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.

Assists with issuing permits for private use of City Property Assist records clerk with filing of paper and electronic records Assists with internal and external information requests Assists with on-going records projects Assists with customer service and answering phone calls and posting utility payments Assists with processing outgoing mail Assists with balancing asset and liability accounts

Job Requirements:
Experience in customer-service position and/or office or secretarial experience would be beneficial. Detail oriented and able to organize information in a logical and consistent manner. Ability to provide skilled customer service to citizens. Strong computer knowledge experience using MS Office programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands:
Moderate physical work with the ability to lift 40 pounds. Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens.
Work Environment:
Works primarily in clean, comfortable environment. Subject to many interruptions and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Routinely communicates with and meets with employees and citizens and must be able to travel back and forth between buildings to carry out necessary functions of this position.
