Until filled Farmington Public Schools is seeking a Secretary II for the Main Office at Irving A. Robbins Middle School. Position is Full time, full year. Benefits include a high-deductible health plan, life insurance, defined benefit plan 401a. PTO includes 15 sick days, 3 personal days, 13 paid holidays and vacation time.
General Description:
The Secretary II provides direction in secretarial and basic office procedure skills to direct and maintain work flow in the office assigned. This service includes the processing of assignments and completion of reports on a timely basis, independent of supervision. To complete the assignment, the Secretary II must interpret, analyze and edit information data or communications, sometimes confidential in nature. The ability to work within assignment deadlines, sometimes under pressure is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications:
Candidate should have a high school diploma; Associates degree or equivalent job experience preferred. Candidate should demonstrate ability to word process at 65 words per minute Candidate should demonstrate ability to file in both alphabetic and numeric filing systems Candidate should demonstrate ability to operate a computer a calculator, copying equipment, and other equipment required to complete job assignments Candidate should demonstrate ability to work on Web based applications and Google Workspace Candidate should demonstrate ability to perform intermediate level word processing, spreadsheet, database, publication and presentation computer programs effectively in work assignments Candidate should demonstrate ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with office personnel, staff , parents and students

SCHEDULE
8am - 4pm (less 60 minute lunch), full year
REPORTS TO
School Assistant Principal / Principal General Duties and Responsibilities Types or inputs prepared data at required speed, interpreting, analyzing and editing copy. Edits data for interaction with data processing equipment required to complete assignments. Assigns Substitutes to fill daily vacancies Organizes files and data information systems required for a smooth office function. Operates a computer, copier, scanner equipment and other equipment required to complete assignments. Maintains systems to complete reports and assignments on schedule, independent of supervision. Handles basic telephone and calendar routine for the office, independent of supervision. Researches, analyzes and edits data required, completes reports and assignments, requiring a steady pace to process. Under limited supervision, designs forms and information systems to complete work schedules. Maintains financial records and performs related duties, as assigned by the supervisor. Supports the Assistant Principal including Google Calendar scheduling Other Responsibilities as assigned
