Job Description

Seeking Part-Time Administrative Assistant Chesterton Academy of St. Francis of Assisi, a joyfully Catholic classical co-educational high school opening in New Britain, CT in August 2026, seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the school beginning in July 2026. This is an onsite, hourly position anticipated to average approximately 20-25 hours per week. Because this is our founding year, the ideal candidate will be highly flexible and willing to assist with the varied and changing needs of a growing school community. The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Headmaster.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting day-to-day office operations, including ordering and maintaining supplies Welcoming and signing in visitors to the school while helping to uphold a safe and orderly front office environment Maintaining records and assisting with administrative reporting, scheduling, and general clerical tasks as needed Assisting with student applications, enrollment, and (in coordination with the Business Manager) tuition-related processes Assisting with the scheduling and coordination of student shadow days, school tours, and other admissions-related activities Assisting with family and public communications under the direction of the Communications Director Assisting with planning, logistics, and administrative support for school events and activities Supervising students before/after school and during lunch (at regularly scheduled times) Assisting school leadership with other duties as needed in a dynamic and growing environment Candidates with interests or talents that could enrich student life may also find optional opportunities to contribute to the culture of the school through clubs or other extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
