Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Acts as administrative assistant to the Building Principal. This position requires initiative, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and analytical thinking. The position relies heavily on organizational skills, effective communication, and a desire to be part of a school team.
Key Responsibilities:
Secretarial support including but not limited to managing calendar, scheduling meetings, clerical work, data entry, and communication systems management
Front office management including but not limited to providing assistance to visitors, students, staff in person, via phone, and email; maintain and organize office supplies; coordinate with outside organizations that use our facilities; maintain employee absence system and assist building administration with coverage
Assist with school budget and maintain fiscal records, including preparing and submitting requisitions, making deposits (if necessary) and maintaining bank records.
Maintains building and department inventory records and supply orders; prepares requisitions,checks in merchandise, and arranges for purchase order payment; prepares budget and purchasing reports for administration and department heads as needed.
Registration of new students making sure all appropriate paperwork has been submitted
Assists administration in maintaining master building schedule, class counts and lists, classroom supply lists and other scheduling/demographic information in PowerSchool
Maintains student records, records requests, and assists with school, district, and state reporting as appropriate
Undertakes special projects at the request of the school administrator that may require initiative in the identification, research and collection of data, and presentation of data
Ability to work with faculty, parents, and students in a professional manner
Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
Possess Multi-Tasking skills and adjust schedule as needs dictate
Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Proficient in the following:
Computer literate (Google Apps, PowerSchool, and Infinite Visions experience preferred)
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree preferred
Background in a school setting is preferred
