Administrative Assistant Contact 1 - 5.0 Washington, DC Job Details Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Customer service Databases Administrative experience Attention to detail Task prioritization Clerical experience Full Job Description A DC-based nonprofit is seeking an Administrative Assistant to serve as a welcoming first point of contact for staff, visitors, and external partners while supporting day-to-day office operations. This role combines strong customer service and communication skills with administrative support responsibilities to help ensure a smooth and efficient office environment. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, providing excellent service, and handling a variety of administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include: Answer and direct incoming phone calls while providing professional, friendly, and helpful customer service. Respond to general inquiries and route requests appropriately. Receive and distribute all incoming mail and deliveries. Assist the Finance team by documenting and scanning all incoming checks. Support the IT and HR teams with onboarding and offboarding of new staff members, including hardware setup and office security protocols. Inventory and process orders of office supplies and equipment. Liaise with vendors and contractors for office maintenance and services. Ensure the office space is clean, functional, and well-maintained. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, visitors, and external parties on-site. Ensure meeting spaces are prepared for guests and events, including coordinating catering and technology needs. Requirements of the
Administrative Assistant:
Associate's degree is preferred. 2+ years of relevant experience providing administrative, customer service, and/or operational support in a professional office environment. Ability to work and prioritize in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Superior attention to detail and ability to accurately navigate large and detailed databases. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to adjust communications according to the audience. Prior experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce is a big plus.
