Job Description

Lee County Human & Veteran Services is looking for a proactive, detail-driven Administrative Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will provide essential clerical and technical support that keeps our department running efficiently while making a meaningful impact on the community. You'll assist clients, help streamline administrative processes, and contribute to a fast-paced, service-oriented environment where exceptional customer care is a top priority. We're seeking someone who is organized, professional, and thrives in a role with diverse responsibilities. The ideal candidate can confidently manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and maintain a positive, solution-focused attitude during frequent public interaction. What You'll Do Respond to client inquiries by phone and in person promptly and professionally Support front desk operations and direct clients to the correct programs or staff Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and other assigned documents Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute materials Enter and manage data using program-specific databases Organize and retrieve physical and electronic records using the KwikTag system Operate standard office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines Assist with special projects, scheduling, calendar management, mail processing, and other administrative tasks Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive client information Provide strong customer service while collaborating with staff, clients, and community partners Perform additional administrative tasks as needed What We're Looking For Minimum Requirements Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: High school diploma or GED and One (1) year of clerical, customer service, administrative support or closely related experience Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities Clear and effective written and verbal communication Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; including Word, Excel, and Outlook High attention to detail with solid problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience in a high-interaction customer service environment Fingerprint Screening Requirement This position requires a fingerprint-based background check, as required by law. The screening reviews criminal history and other legally permitted information. Applicants who do not meet the screening requirements will not be eligible for employment.
