Job Description

Company Overview John's Island Club is a private, member-owned club known for exceptional service and the highest standards of excellence. This role supports our well-established lecture series — a valued part of Club life that brings distinguished speakers and thoughtful programming to our members. What You Will Do Assist with the planning and scheduling of lecture series events, committee meetings, and dinners, coordinating with catering managers, club members, and speaker representatives. Provide administrative support to multiple committees, including the Five O'Clock Hour, Book Review, Forum, and Gold Seminar Committees. Manage RSVPs, event stationery, meeting minutes, and correspondence accurately and on time. Prepare, print, and distribute promotional materials and event programs, and maintain digital signage and website content related to the lecture series. Greet members and guests, answer phones, and represent the Catering Office with warmth and professionalism. Attend events and ensure all details are in place and running smoothly. What We Are Looking For Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Google Docs, and typing/keyboarding. Experience with Jonas software is a plus. Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading abilities. Organization Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines with confidence and composure. Professionalism Tactful, discreet, and polished when interacting with members, leadership, guests, and outside speakers. Professional business attire is required. Schedule Typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Must be available to attend events, generally one evening per week during the season. May have a reduced schedule or extended time off during the slower summer months. Why This Role Matters The right person for this role thrives on organization, communicates clearly and professionally, and understands that in a private club setting, details matter. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
