Job Description

The Assistant Administrator, Nursing & Clinical Services is a key member of the hospital's leadership team and is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and operational oversight of all nursing and clinical service areas at Jay Hospital. This role ensures the delivery of high‑quality patient care, supports clinical excellence, and promotes a culture of safety, service, and employee engagement. The Assistant Administrator partners closely with nursing leadership, medical staff, and operational teams to drive performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across clinical departments. Leadership & Operations Provide operational support and leadership direction for nursing and clinical service departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance standards. Assist with the daily management of clinical operations, including staffing, workflow optimization, and resource allocation. Partner with nurse managers and supervisors to address operational issues, remove barriers, and maintain safe, efficient care environments. Support initiatives that enhance patient throughput, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Clinical Excellence & Quality Monitor clinical quality metrics and collaborate with teams to drive improvements in patient outcomes and regulatory compliance. Support readiness for accreditation, licensure, and regulatory surveys. Promote evidence‑based practice and participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and standards. Workforce Management & Development Collaborate with Nursing leadership and HR to support recruitment, retention, workforce planning, and onboarding for clinical roles. Participate in performance evaluations, coaching, and staff development efforts to strengthen clinical competencies and leadership capabilities. Support team member engagement initiatives to foster a positive and collaborative work culture. Strategic Planning & Projects Assist in the execution of strategic and operational plans for nursing and clinical services. Lead or support clinical improvement projects, capital planning, and service line expansion efforts. Contribute to budget development and monitor financial performance for assigned areas. Collaboration & Communication Serve as a liaison between clinical departments, administrative leadership, medical staff, and ancillary teams. Ensure effective communication across departments to support safe, coordinated patient care. Represent the hospital in internal committees, task forces, and external partnerships. Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after sever weather and/or disasters. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required. Will accept candidates who are in a Bachelors program with 1 year to complete. RN licensure required (or eligible), depending on organizational preference. 7 years of direct patient care nursing experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing or clinical operations. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field. Experience in rural or community hospital settings. Demonstrated success in operational leadership, quality improvement, and workforce development.
