Job Description:
Update patient menus consistently to reflect changes in diet orders, discharges, and transfers, maintaining accuracy and compliance. Maintain sufficient stock of patient menus and office supplies to support uninterrupted and efficient service delivery. Perform data entry and computer-based tasks with precision while taking patient menu selections and resolving inquiries from patients, nurses, and physicians. Other duties as assigned. Apply comprehensive knowledge of regular and therapeutic diets to support accurate menu planning and patient nutrition care. Communicate dietary consults, referrals, and other critical information promptly to the Nutrition Services Team to ensure coordinated care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. [Required]
  • Excellent customer service skills. [Required]
  • Strong organizational skills. [Required]
  • Ability to apply therapeutic diet parameters. [Required]
  • Ability to complete multiple detail-oriented tasks/responsibilities in a time-sensitive environment. [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English and understand food service terms. [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
  • Ability to use common software applications and hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook). [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diet Office in the healthcare setting. [Preferred]
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
  • Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
Field of Study:

    • 1+ of experience in acute care setting [Preferred]
