Job Description

As a growing Primary Care Practice we are excited to have an opening for a Front Office Medical Assistant position in Oldsmar, FL. We are looking for someone to support patients and doctors by providing top level communications and customer service. We are looking for a long term hire who is outgoing, compassionate, reliable and detail oriented to join our small team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the front office of a medical office, experience with EMRs and other administrative aspects of a primary care office. Bonus points for other medical assistant experience (vitals, venipuncture, triage). We provide a professional environment and all the training necessary to succeed in this role. About us Woodlands Medical Center is family owned medical practice located in Oldsmar, FL that specializes in care for patients over 65. We have been serving patients in Pinellas county since 1987. Responsibilities (we will provide training on all unfamiliar tasks) Ability to answer multiple calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other staff Greeting and checking in patients Inputting or scanning patient medical documentation into EMR Communicating information in a timely manner from patients to doctors Making authorizations and scheduling patient appointments with other providers Obtaining medical records from specialists, imaging centers and hospitals Preparing patient charts for clinics by making sure all notes, reports and records are accessible to the providers Confirming patients for upcoming appointments Assist with scheduling patient follow up appointments and referral appointments Screening and onboarding new patients Creating, updating and managing patients' charts Data entry of office visits and billing Communicating with specialists' offices and insurance companies to improve the patient experience Assisting with typical medical assistant duties like taking vitals, performing lab draws and injections Work as a team player and communicating effectively and efficiently Skills Proven working experience in a medical office in the front and back office Knowledge of medical office management systems, EMRs and billing Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Familiarity with HEDIS measures and management Attention to detail Bonus if experienced with venipuncture, injections and lab protocols Location & Hours Our office is conveniently located in Oldsmar, Florida off Tampa Road next to Village Inn. We are looking for either Part Time (Monday through Friday from 8am to 12noon ) or Full Time (Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break) for this position.
