The Clerk, Senior Maintenance Unit, Facilities, will perform supervisory clerical duties of an office managerial nature in a maintenance-oriented unit or activity. The Clerk, Senior Maintenance Unit, Facilities, works independently to complete identified duties.SUPERVISORY EXPECTATIONS
Manage assigned clerical staff and subordinate professional personnel in one or more sections of the department. Take responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned teams. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities:
- Maintains cost records on normal and contractual maintenance work and capital outlay projects, including labor charges, materials expended, and outside contractor costs.
- Maintains personnel records of assigned employees, including work time, sick time, vacation time, and accident records.
- Receives and manages telephone calls or radio communications dealing with complaints, requests for repairs, technical assistance, emergency maintenance, request for supervisors, and road calls from workers in the field.
- Schedules, maintains, and verifies weekly and monthly records of maintenance services performed on assigned vehicles and equipment within the maintenance unit, including fuel consumption, accident reporting, and preventative maintenance services.
- Compiles data and assists in the preparation of complex statistical analysis, reports, and budget inputs.
- Coordinates purchasing and office supply requirements for the unit, including contracting outside vendors or businesses, typing field purchase orders, and coordinating deliveries and pick-ups.
- Prepares correspondence for approval of immediate supervisor.
- Performs basic computer skills such as keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
