Description The Chatham County Board of Elections is seeking an Elections Coordinator to join their team and ensure smooth and compliant election processes. Qualified candidates with a strong background in administrative support and a commitment to public service are encouraged to apply for this essential role. Examples of Duties Under the direction of the Elections Director, you Provide programmatic and administrative support to the Chatham County Board of Elections. Coordinate and maintain elections records and ensure that the department complies with State and Federal laws. Recruit, qualify, and process applicants for poll worker positions across several districts of precincts including requesting background checks, and enters workers into computerized poll worker management system. Perform routine maintenance and updates on computerized poll worker management system, indicating poll worker's status, availability to work, decisions to retire, and any comments that would assist in future poll assignments. Assist with decisions regarding staffing levels at each polling location. Participate in post-election evaluation of poll workers' performance. Assist with Ethics and Campaign finance reporting. Assist with preparing and conducting elections and coordinating department services with other departments and agencies. Maintain and report election statistics, records, and files. Use your communication and customer service skills as you work with the public, staff at polling locations, poll workers, members of the media, candidates, and elected officials. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and At least three (3) years of administrative assistant, clerical, or related experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
