Full-time Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Front Office Staff member to join our nephrology practice. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations and providing excellent care and support to our patients.
Responsibilities:
Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a professional and timely manner Schedule and confirm patient appointments Handle incoming and outgoing faxes Process prior authorizations, referrals, and medical records requests Assist patients with insurance-related questions Maintain accurate and organized patient information Ensure all patient messages and communications are handled promptly Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding using
CPT, ICD-9/10
codes for billing and care plans Maintain organized filing of medical records, ensure confidentiality, and support health information management efforts
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a medical office (required) Strong organizational, multitasking skills and attention to detail for filing, record keeping, administrative support tasks. Able to manage medical records requests/ Faxes/ obtaining labs, placing orders and prior authorizations. Proficiency in medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), insurance verification, and documentation review processes Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism and courtesy Excellent customer service and communication skills Compassionate and patient-focused attitude Proficiency with computers, electronic medical records (EMR), and office equipment (phones, fax machines, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a specialty practice (nephrology experience is a plus) Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes
