Job Description Monday - Friday 7am-3pm position Collaborates/assists the Administrative Law Judge on a regular basis. Handles confidential information regarding Incarcerated Individuals (II) which includes major reports, sanctions, and collection/handling of evidence. Serves as a member of the Administrative Segregation (Ad Seg) Review Committee. Provides support by serving as the first step in the process of tracking and communicating disciplinary reports, disciplinary detention time, ad seg time, lost time, earned time, and assessing damages to property and equipment. Information collected, communicated, and distributed must be accurate and timely to ensure that the II release date is correct. Responsible for distributing and tracking staff evaluations. Ensures evaluations are completed in a timely manner. Participates in shift supervisor meetings and other meetings as required. Compiles and distributes information. Has frequent contact with Attorneys. Arranges and coordinates phone calls, onsite visits, etc. between II and attorneys. Works/Collaborates with The Department of Criminal Investigation and outside agencies. In order to comply with Federal and State standards, this position is responsible for properly fingerprinting and collecting DNA for approximately 500 admissions per month. Serves as a contact person for outside county and federal law enforcement agencies, including interstate compact. Responsible for uniforms and supplies for uniformed staff. Orders/purchases, issues, and maintains a database of uniforms and supplies that have been distributed, what stock is available, etc. Coordinates/assists/provides backup to the Administrative Assistant I in the security department with all II state-wide transportation of approximately 200 incarcerated individuals per week. This includes insuring that all communication, paperwork, etc. is in place and accurate with 99 counties in Iowa and nine DOC facilities. Expedites transportation in situations that involve parole and work-release revocations to not incur additional costs/per diem expenses when incarcerated individuals are housed at the county level longer than necessary. Responsible for planning county to county transport on a regular basis Assists and supports Correctional Supervisors, Security Manager, and Security Director with developing and maintaining varying types of spreadsheets, tracks data, and shares findings/results E-Verify and Right to Work The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify, a federal program that helps employers confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work. A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 2 or eighteen months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
