Job Description
City of Gilman, Iowa Employment Opportunity The City of Gilman is seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual with accounting, computer, and customer service skills for the position of City Clerk/Treasurer. The City Clerk performs administrative, financial, and clerical duties to support the operations of the City and ensures compliance with state and local regulations. This role is vital in maintaining accurate city records, assisting the public, and supporting the mayor and city council in the efficient management of the City's affairs. This position is Monday- Friday for 40 hours per week with monthly evening and occasional other meetings required. High school graduate or equivalent required. College degree with an accounting emphasis and/or experience in a government office environment is preferred. Three references required. Background check conducted. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license. Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour and is negotiable based on experience. Medical insurance is available. Paid holidays and 1 week of vacation after 1 year of employment. 90 day probationary period. The City of Gilman is an equal opportunity employer.
