Campus, ILLINOIS Summary The position will provide support in metadata creation and publishing assistance in the production of university-published scholarly journals and textbooks uploaded to ScholarWorks, the university repository. Essential Functions Enter faculty publication citations into open access platforms and update existing records. Scan print materials and complete metadata spreadsheets for special projects. Assist with creation of university-published materials, including publication formatting, copyediting, and proofreading of submitted manuscripts and final publications. Run accessibility checks on digital content using tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word's built-in checkers, in alignment with

WCAG 2.1 AA

standards. Remediate PDFs and Word documents to meet accessibility requirements (e.g., headings structure, alt text, reading order). Create and edit captions and transcripts for audio and video materials. Minimum Qualifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with design tools (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Additional Information Familiarity with technology and willingness to learn Basic knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) or prior coursework in a related field Interest in open access, scholarly publishing, academic libraries, graphic design, or educational technology Experience with digital design, web content, or captioning tools Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
