Job Description

at Department of Corrections in Hillsboro, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated Office Coordinator to provide secretarial and office support functions for the Business Office at Graham Correctional Center. They will serve as administrative secretary for the Business Office, prepare and process reports and spreadsheets, and serve as institutional cashier. This person will need to have strong attention to detail, integrity and ability to effectively communicate with multiple parties. We encourage all interested and qualified individuals to apply. Essential Functions Functions as an administrative secretary. Keyboards and processes a variety of correspondence, reports, memorandums, and letters. Serves as a receptionist for the Business Office. Serves as institutional cashier and assists other Business Office staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion to two (2) years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years independent business experience Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute. Preferred Qualifications Prefers at least three (3) years of experience working in an office setting. Prefers at least three (3) years of experience gathering data and preparing reports. Prefers at least three (3) years of experience using Microsoft Office suite or similar programs. Prefers at least three (3) years of experience maintaining a filing system. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience meeting deadlines. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience receiving, sorting, and distributing mail. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience communicating and relaying information to staff and the general public. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and keyboarding meeting minutes. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass the
IDOC / IDJJ
background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
