THEATER OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER
Improv Playhouse, a nationally recognized performing arts organization serving Lake County for over 25 years, seeks an organized, energetic, and personable Theater Operations & Administrative Manager to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with people, managing details, solving problems, and helping a vibrant arts organization operate efficiently and professionally. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting our classes, camps, productions, corporate programs, community outreach initiatives, and day-to-day operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily office operations, communications, scheduling, and administrative functions Provide exceptional customer service to youth, adult, and corporate program participants Oversee registration, enrollment, rosters, and program administration Coordinate class, camp, production, and event logistics Assist with bookkeeping functions including payment processing and QuickBooks data entry Support marketing initiatives, website updates, email campaigns, and social media communications utilizing Canva, Constant Contact, and related platforms Manage box office functions including event creation, ticket sales tracking, and patron support Assist with facility operations, supply ordering, and organizational needs Coordinate licensing, rentals, scheduling, and administrative support for educational and theatrical programming Support special events, community outreach initiatives, and corporate team-building programs
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable bookkeeping software preferred Experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, education, hospitality, event management, or related fields is advantageous Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Professional demeanor, positive attitude, flexibility, and attention to detail Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a creative environment
POSITION DETAILS
Full-time salaried position
Salary Range:
$32,000-$38,000, depending on experience and qualifications Monday-Friday daytime schedule, with occasional evenings and weekends during productions, camps, and special events Primarily in-person position based in Libertyville, Illinois Reliable transportation preferred
